I hope it has the body depth of an El Trov. |
I would like a deeper body too. Whaddaya think regarding body depth? I can't decide if its deeper than a regular NRP body....this photo makes me think it might be a deeper body...but I think it might just be distortion from the camera lens that makes it look deeper in the foreground.....

Interestingly enough, we discussed a slightly deeper body. This prototype is 3 inches deep. |

| Could be both. We will have to compare them soundwise. |

That does look interesting. A version with a metal well would be another intriguing experiment. The CNC carved buttresses on the well walls look like they should provide a lot of stiffness.
I still think the basket weave ports are too big for optimum resonance and bass response, although the thickness of the wood top is going to increase the resonance Q (I think). I 'd say it was worth experimenting with making some of those weave holes blind. The prototypes can be easily tuned by selectively blocking the holes from the outside.

That guitar is definitely providing a lot of stiffness here!

| If this is a cross between an El Trov and a tricone it will be my dream guitar. I may be expecting too much, but I have really high expectations. I even dreamed about it last night. I think I will have an opportunity to play one in a couple of weeks. If so, I'll certainly share my experience. |

Yep.
Warranties are for fairies.
Ah, it's just a flesh wound. Come back here and fight, ya fairy! _________________

Gotta be a way to recess the metal cover plate to accommodate a piece of veneer. I think the metal ruins the look of an otherwise stunning instrument. Absolutely stunning. I'll bet it sounds amazing. _________________

The once and future king of the tricones. Previously owned by Erk and possibly his single regret.
