Say, the forum seems to have slimmed down a bit. I just got back from a great show with Duck and Jamie. They did a bunch of jazz tunes-Monk, Parker, Wes, Duke and some obscure stuff. Absolutely great-and thanks to a combination of a Sunday night, bad weather, and lame promotion there was virtually nobody there-a drag for hard working musicians, but fun for me-got to talk a while with both of them. Very nice and very funny guys. If you can, pick up their duet disc or go see em. Either one would be a great person to have at IGS as well. IP: Logged |

I saw Duck play with Woody (it's not often you get to say that! about a year ago - really incredible. A similar crowd situation, too. I think they got the word out at the very last minute so there were only six people there. As you say - crappy when you're trying to keep shoes on your feet, but...I think Kurt was at that show too.
