I’m lucky. Got my hands on the new Bob & Woody album at a woody weekend workshop this past Sunday.

It’s called Get Together. You will love this record, it’s some hot shit. Bob & Woody compliment each other so well as teachers, personalities and artists. Each has a distinguishable sense of syncopation and tone and this recording is a testament of their ability to let loose while listening and letting the other player shine too.

We’re all very lucky. Learnin’ a bit from Woody and learnin’ a bit from Bob and trying to add it to our own stuff. That’s a nice place to be. Now havin’ this record to listen to, it’s icing and gravy all at once.

You'll be able to order Woody and Bob's new CD, Get Together, from my site, Avalon Guitar at http://www.avguitar.com/ . Or click on the link to Avalon at the top of the page. I should also have Woody's new book Lisboa soon too. It's a compilation of tunes from 3 of his albums with a companion CD. The publisher has been saying any day now for a while.

To Perry,
Thanks for your kind words! There are some great track with Simpson, buried by his record company, probably never see the light of day, except one track which I issued on my "Running Man" CD (see http://www.bobbrozman.com )
A lot of other world music ensemble material got recorded live in Canada in summer 99, beginning to mix now. Regarding Sunrise CD with Debashish, we are re-mixing the whole thing (did not like Calcutta mix) and also adding some KILLER live tracks from Canadian festival shows! Merci, mon ami, ma Francais c'est tres primitive, par ce que, je suis un autodidact, vraiment!!

Sure, there's some great slide on the CD. (I think that question could be answered by saying, "Yes, Bob Brozman is on the CD.") There's a lot of interesting stuff -- mostly compositions by Woody and Bob together, a few improvisations based on Woody's tunes and a Rev. Gary Davis tune -- Death Don't Have No Mercy. They explore several traditional styles. I don't have it listed at my site because I don't have it in stock just yet but it will be there soon. And of course you'll be able to buy it from Woody's and Bob's websites too.
