Seasons Greetings all, I am in the process of trying to piece together the Highway 61 on Martins "Bootleg usa" So far I have gotten that it is in open G, capoed at the third fret for a Bflat tuning, and have several of the parts down. However, there is a section where he goes from playing primarily single note lines to a little chord vamp with a change in tempo , and for the life of me I have been unable to figure out what is going on. Any one able to help? BTW, getting the pinch harmonic while using the slide took quite a bit of time, but the tone is well worth the effort.

Highway '61 is my early morming mantra.
I play it in an open C tuning flattened down to Bflat. I've got lots of the parts off but I can't play the whole thing through. I certinaly can't sing it.

Tim
"the little chord vamp with a change in tempo " is very easy when you listen to it as a
123, 123, 12, 12, then comes the E7th chord in more or less the same rhythm.

I'm going to totaly crack this song open.
I dought if I will ever play it but it gives a fantasitc insight into the "Simpsonic Expansion" of a simple song.
