At Woody's October NY workshop, a number of attendees asked questions about and played my guitar built by David Flammang. The guitar is a size 0 12-fret with koa back and sides. Mandolin Bros. just announced that it is now offering Flammang guitars. The December Vintage News (available at www.mandoweb.com) has a nice profile of David and photos of a couple of models it now has in stock. It also mentions that a number of artists who play Flammang guitars are planning to produce a CD in tribute to his instruments!

I'd like to add that I really enjoyed the workshop and hope to attend another soon. Woody is a charming and talented teacher and player and the other pickers proved to be interesting and helpful comrades.

Isn't it amazing that someone like Woody could be so humble and willing to promote our love of the guitar? Iv'e certainly been blessed by his help!
I sometimes wonder if it's not because of his own experience with Rev Gary Davis.

I played the Flammang EL35 at Mandolin Bros. over the holidays.

Fit and finish were lovely. Very easy to play and comfortable.

I play heavy pick blues but am venturing more into fingerstyle and I can see how appropriate this guitar would be. It just vibrated in your arms. A very resonant, clear, responsive little guitar.

I wish Mr. Flammang all the best.
