Tefteller does indeed have the 99 record.
I understand he has some more surprises for us in November.

The answer to #12 is: who has a song which include jokes about an elephant and a cat and an elephant and a chicken?

Peetie also played guitar on "Throw me down the Alley" in 1934 and probably on "Weeping Willow Blues" in 1935. Before I had ever heard of a guy called Brozman, the cover photo from the YAZOO L 1030 Lp was the main reason for me to get interested in National guitars. Didn't he look sharp, that "Devil's Son-In-Law"??

Adrian, seeing that I blew the Leadbelly question, who happens to be one of my favorites, I think knowing Tefteller has the 99 copy should count as a bonus answer!!!

Yes, but you can't have a full bonus point because I provided the link to Tefteller's site and because he seems to own or have owned everything at one point in time.

Okay, I'll settle for a near full point, even though I haven't yet clicked on your link to download the mp3. I have "met" John through record collecting, and it was an educated guess. I know he is extensively into rare 78's, along with lps, and 45's.

Great answer to #1!
For a bonus point I am looking for a different artist and an earlier recording (1927) and the clue is: the title of the song reflects the "stolen girl " theme.

Oh no! How could I be that stupid!! It's "stole rider blues" by Blind Willie McTell, recorded 10/18/27, released on Victor 21124, that's what Adrian was thinking off. Still don't know about the "Kill It Kid" thingy, I never heard the Library of Congress Recordings of McTell's. But anyway, thay were done in 1940 and that's not pre-war for me, even if it was for McTell!

Yep, you got it.

OK, so there is the prewar blues and the postwar blues, but nobody talks of the during-the-war blues. So does the pre and post refer to the beginning and/or end of the war?
