I play a 7 stringed electric guitar in open G plus the lowest string in very very low G. The string gauge is 0.78 so the tuning is

G DGDGHD

the low G is the same G as on a bass guitar, so if there is no bass I play bass riffs and slide lotsa fun. Its a cheap 7 stringed called Peavey "predator" itīs designed for heavy rock but I use it for slide.

If I am not mistaken this has the same interval structure as Open C Major tuning. I have been thinking about setting up an acoustic 7-string with this kind of tuning but I think I would probably crank everything up towards A or B as the root.

I mean: open G on 7 stringed guitar is
G GDGDBD

My mistake in Denmark we use "H" instead of "B" which is silly. I donīt know why we have that stupid idea. A minor scale in Denmark is
AHCDEFGA
US/UK or German version is more logical
ABCDEFGA

Peavey "Predator." I think I remember this guitar from my heavy metal daze. Didn't the tall dutchman, Adrian Vandenberg, endorse this guitar after he hit fame with the band "Whitesnake." Before that, I remember his minor hit called "Friday Night" with his other band which was called "Vandenberg."

So whose making acoustic 7 strings these days? I'd bet that Ibanez does.
