I haven't heard it yet, but I'm planning to pick up the new release by Eddie Pennington. Pennington is a master Travis picker and this CD looks like a good one.

Here's 4 current favs of mine;

1. Robert Pete Williams - Poor Bob's Blues
2. Tom Doughty - The Bell
3. Bill Kinnear and Carlos De Junco - Blues
4. John Hammond - Wicked Grin

Ok, most of these are old but they are new to me. I saw John Hammond live here in Park City last night playing with Alvin Youngblood Heart, Duke Robillard, and Otis Taylor. They all played individually then they jammed together. . . . Wow! They were all fantastic. Alvis and John Hammond were so good it is beyond description. John Hammond plays a mean guitar, he wails on the harp, and his voice is taylor made to perfectly blend with both. What a treat.
