Around 1989 Rickenbacker issued a Roger McGuinn 12 string, 370/12RM, which had a treble boosting circuit mounted in the guitar control cavity powered by a 9V battery.
I have a Ric 360/12 and would like to mount one of these units. I know they are difficult and expensive to come by. Anyone have the schematics available to build one?
Thanks!

Difficult to come by isn't quite accurate. Improbable is more like it. I saw one on Ebay this winter that sold for $250, was promptly re-listed, and sold for $750. It is one of a handful I have ever seen that were not attached to a 370/12RM (I am lucky enough to have one of that handful in my '93 370/12MG, though it is acting up at the moment).

There is a guy named Steve Lasko who has a long history of experience with the 370/12RM and its electronics, and has built an outboard unit that is so good that Roger McGuinn has eschewed the onboard electronics in its favor. Go to www.janglebox.com and check it out. I used one at NAMM this January with a 660/12 and was VERY impressed.

BTW, the schematic for the RIC unit is at

http://www.rickenbacker.com/pdf/19515.pdf

The number of the IC is not on the schematic and was sanded off of every unit shipped, but it is speculated to a be a CA3080.

I know of a guy here in the Ft. Worth area who not only repairs vintage amps (he re-capped my '62 Fender Champ), but offers an onboard compressor for hollow-body guitars as well:
