...to waste his talent at a place called Wahconah park. (Aug.26, Pittsfield) A fine place for baseball, but a p hole in the snow for music. At his last performance there, a large structure was erected on the pitching mound, I guess for sound balancing or something. This effectively blocked off the view for 1/3 of the people there, but there was a big screen! Yaho,Bob on TV! Then, the infield was roped off so most couldn't get close to the great one. Who knows what damage people standing and listening to music would have on that hallowed ground. Plus, someone might sneek in a kid in with a beach shovel and pan and really cause some damage. One little divot in the sod might cause a bad hop that might inluence the outcome of a bush league game that might mean something to someone! I know this means V. little to most out there in IGS land, but I just had to rant. I feel better already! IP: Logged |

Just goes to show you that no matter how high up on the totem pole you are,you always find yourself playing some crappy venue......amazing. Ladies and gentlemen,"now batting for the Pittsfield Mudhens and playing second base...... Robert Zimmerman." IP: Logged |

Bob and some other luminary (Willie Nelson?) played what amounts to a semi-pro baseball field here in Madison, Wi last year. Did not make it. Go figure? Sorta like playing the county fair circuit. IP: Logged |

I remember seeing Tina Turner playing a county fair in 1981 on one of those dusty old infields, playing to hardly anyone. Little did anyone know, including myself, how big her comeback was going to be a couple of years later. IP: Logged |
