I have a Leadbelly CD by Document Records called "The Remaining Library of Congress Recordings, Volume 3 1935." One of the tracks featured on this CD is an unaccompanied holler called "Dick Licker's Holler." I swear this is the actual title of the song. The lyrics are hard to understand. Does anyone have a transcription of the lyrics. And does anyone know what the song means? Is it about a guy whose name is, unfortuneately, "Dick Licker" or is that wong? Thanks. IP: Logged |

Years ago the University of Oregon had two coaches named Dick. One coached basketball and I can't remember what sport the other coached. Their names were Dick Harter and Dick Enright. The saying around Eugene was, if you can't get your Dick Enright, then get your Dick...I think you get the picture. IP: Logged |

I went to school with a guy named Dave Dangler. His dad's name was Harry. I think my favorite off the wall name was a woman that worked for my company in North Carolina. Her name was Anita Ho. We were setting up the network usernames using first initial, last name. She became AHo. I couldn't handle it, I broke with the name format and gave her the username AnitaH. IP: Logged |

The mother of my best friend in high school is named Freda Lay. One name that covers a teen's two biggest issues: sex and the munchies. IP: Logged |

I have a friend whose last name is Fuchs (pronounced Fox). When he had a daughter, he changed the spelling to Fox. He thought it would be better if she was Amy Fox, rather than Amy Fuchs IP: Logged |

Hey guys, not to throw cold water on a good time, but does anyone actually have the lyrics to this tune? After a week of reading I'm actually curious as to what they are. What's really going on w Dick and Leadbelly? And..., continue w the merriment! Len IP: Logged |

Don't know the lyrics but please allow me to continue with the merriment: Girl in grade school : Daphne Clesauras. We'd tell everyone not to tease here because she was "sensitive" about her name. Kids are f#*&in' brutal too! Friend in UK: Harold Johnson, aka, Harry Ugly and scary guy I knew in New York: Frank Enstein Hamburger shop in Terneuzen, NL: Dik Burger Town in Austria: Kunter Pub In Tillet, Hertfordshire, UK: The Cock Inn. People would delight in sending postcards from These are all true and experienced first hand. LOL! IP: Logged |
