That's one beautiful and pretty sounding guitar. I dream of the day when I get my undeserving hands on a old Larson Brothers guitar. Is that a mahogany topped model that you are playing?

Elderly sold one of those a year or two back for around $8,000 or $8,500 and it was pretty much identical and was definitely a spruce-topped one,

Only Larson Bros guitar I ever played was one of those gigantic 20" ones that was incredible. I played a modern day recreation (I forget the name) at Elderly on Saturday and it sounded like a 000...

hey thanks guys for the appreciation, the Maurer is only a 14" and I think the one Elderly had could have been a 15" but I might be thinking of a differant one that they had. this one is ladder braced and built under tension and very quickly responding. Also the top is red (adirondack spruce stained chocolate) If you would like I could try the same song on my 19" Prairie State maple circa 1940 just to show the wide but similar differances in tone if you guys would like. just for fun I am going to post a link of my son(sqnk tricone) and his sister (Harmony 000) and my grandson on the (style N ukelele). we made it last year I will post under the title of my kids tricone video thanks, stevie b

I would love to see a picture and heard a clip of your Prairie State.
