Hi Guys
I don't know who wants to join in me with this but I just wanted to say thanks to all our American friends who are helping us Euros out on stuff we can't get,or ebay sellers who won't ship to Europe. The goodwill on this forum is one of the many things that keeps me here.
Thanks especially to RonE, Zak,the guy that sent me a DeArmond 210 (now fixed) free-of-charge,people who have sent me picks to try out.
This is a tough old world and we all need each other.I just wish there's more like you in this world. In the unlikely event that anyone needs anything from Europe, just shout.
(Vintage wine is a bit difficult !!)

I echo these sentiments. I have met so many great folks through this forum and the Steel Guitar Forum . There is definitely a comraderie among those of us with tastes a little out of the ordinary. Steel guitarists seem to be particularly benevolent with their time and knowledge and the same for lovers of the great old instruments.

Actually, I agree with Mike, thanks all for sharing info. Much friendlier than the Britney Spears forum....especially about hawaiiian steel guitar.

Yes - big thanks from me too! If it wasn't for the Steel Guitar Forum and this forum, I would probably still sit with my fingerpicks the wrong way around, wondering what to do with the lap steel I bought on a whim in 2005!

The global slide guitar community is indeed one of generosity and sharing - I am very grateful to people here and on the SGF who have helped me with shipping from the USA, offering to fix broken eqipment for free, and sharing tons of knowledge for the benefit of everyone, and provided valuable comments and feedback on my music.

Also, thanks to the top slide guitar professionals who are so generous with their time and vast knowledge, letting us young(er) players benefit from workshops and from them being patient, kind and down-to-earth people. Very different from the ego-fuelled mainstream music business.

I feel the same way as Andy, despite being in the FAR northern part of Europe, and not THAT far from Steinar! ;-) The knowledge combined here and the willingness to help out is really great. AND I have bought 3 vintage Nationals from Steve B. here without being worried about being ripped off... If one is on this forum I tend to think they are okay folks! Naive? MAYBE, but the world needs some trust!

and as Andy infers, ZAK, you are the parlor guitar man!!!

all the best
BERT

Good Cuban cigars are always a nice way to say "thanks" to us Yanks...

Not fishing for anything here but just to reiterate, if anyone overseas needs something shipped over and/or purchased here I'd be happy to help (I spend half my life at the Post Office already).

I also feel the urge to express my gratitude, for all the knowledge and inspiration I have received from this forum. It overcomes all the bullshit by far ;-)
And you guys mean that much to me, that Eskimo I wouldn't dream of risking the good health of a fellow postman (I guess? or are you just sitting an waiting for that box of cigars to arrive) with all that smoke!

Thanks a lot
